Books & Rattles, Inc. are community-based childcare centers that provides optimum care for children in an environment of guidance, love and support. Our program promotes cognitive, emotional, physical and moral growth to our children based on each child’s unique developmental level. Our goal is to develop each child’s psychological, social and cognitive abilities that will enhance the children’s sense of security, personal achievement and positive self-concept. Our Education Philosophy
Books & Rattles, Inc. believes in the magic of childhood. We seek to provide classroom experiences where children can play, explore, use imagination and interact with peers and adults to understand their emerging world. With this in mind, we seek to integrate as many enriched and varied learning experiences as possible. This includes a creative arts program which provides specialized instruction in music, dance and art outside of the classroom and in addition to our children’s daily activities. Books & Rattles, Inc. also takes advantage of the rich cultural heritage and enriched experiences afforded to our children as a part of New York City metro areas through monthly field trips. This includes trips to museums, plays, theater, and farms.
We adhere to traditional philosophies of developmental stages of childhood. We seek to provide enriched classroom and school experiences, knowing how much the mind grow and seeks stimuli during the early childhood years. We believe that children learn to their highest potential when exposed to an enriched environment that enhances their cognitive, language and social abilities and is modified to meet a child’s particular learning style. Books & Rattles, Inc. seeks to provide children with a physically and emotionally safe environment, knowing that when these needs are met, children are free to grow and explore. We aim to create and maintain a learning environment where every child receives the attention and dedication necessary in order to do so.
To achieve our goals, Books & Rattles, Inc. takes pride in selecting the highest qualified employees in the field of child care. We provide our staff with ongoing supervision and mentoring in best practices in the field of early childhood education. All of our staff meets the requirements of the Department of Health and New York State Department of Health requirements to teach in New York State.
